PROFILE

Melissa grew up in the market town of Wigan (b. 1971). Studied Ceramics and Glass at the University of Central England in Birmingham.  And is now proud to call Salisbury home.

After a diverse career and raising her family, Melissa is returning to drawing and painting. Mostly using charcoal and acrylic paints.

MY ART

I primarily love to use charcoal for its bold tonal qualities. My latest body of work concentrates mainly on tree’s, they are simply magnificent. I love to draw them in the landscape, in isolation, looking at their form and patterns. They are a constant source of inspiration.

I would describe myself as a figurative artist although I love painting landscapes too and have painted scenes of Salisbury town and the surrounding countryside.

I am a member of both Salisbury Group of Artists and Plain Arts and am thrilled to be able to regularly show my work through Salisbury Arts Scene.

Below is a selection of my current work. (All my prints are sold mounted, backed and sealed).

Please take a look at my website. If interested in any work, I am happy for you to view by appointment.
